Google Redirect Domain
What is the Google Redirect Domain Issue?
Google – a haven for anyone interested in getting information about anything.
Which explains why just about everyone uses Google each and every day. Well, when you have a large group of people using a particular technological medium, it opens the door for people with evil intentions to take advantage of that medium.
In this case, a hacker (or group of hackers) developed a virus that, if not taken care of immediately, can cause some serious damage to your computer.
How Does it Work?
For starters, let’s talk about how the domain redirect virus works.
Whenever you search on Google, it displays the top 10 results for whatever you searched for. Then, when you click on one of the links it displays, it takes you to the specific website.
Now, this is a process we’re all familiar with. I don’t need to go too in depth into Google’s basic search mechanics.

But here’s where the problem comes around. The redirecting domain virus is something that’s installed on your computer for whatever reason. Maybe it’s because you downloaded something that had a virus hidden inside. Or maybe it’s just because you went to a website that was programmed to install a virus onto your computer.
Regardless of the reason, the virus is there sitting on your computer. Unlike most viruses, though, this one doesn’t come out and attack your computer right off the bat. Instead, it lurks in the shadows to avoid detection, not causing any direct harm to your computer.
But then when you visit trusty Google, something strange starts to happen.
You fill out the search bar as normal and when you push “search,” your results are displayed. But when you click on one of the results, it doesn’t take you to the website you it should.
Instead, it takes you to a website laced with malicious code – code designed to install malware or spyware onto your computer.
So now you have some spyware on your computer. It happens to everyone… no big deal. You take it to a computer repair store and they remove it for you. Great!
You go to Google again – same thing happens. So you have spyware/malware on your computer AGAIN.
See what’s happening here? The problem is the virus only affects your Google search results. So it’s very difficult to tell what’s happening.
Most people think it’s either Google’s fault or a bad link they clicked. In reality, it’s neither. Instead, it’s the virus they have in their computer.
So what’s the solution? Get rid of the virus PERMANENTLY!
This is the only true way to safely use Google again. Fortunately, since this problem has become so widespread, there are several different types of programs that work to eliminate the virus.
If you’re interested in learning about these types of programs, or how you can prevent yourself from getting the google redirect domain problem in the first place, click here and we’ll tell you all about it.
